Afternoon tea experience
The Ross and Friends afternoon tea is a lovely experience for both humans and dogs alike.
The newly created café was super welcoming and offered both indoor and outdoor seating. Each of which had a specially made dog station.
The drink and food selection was extensive, ensuring there was something for everyone. What differentiated it was the inclusion of dog-friendly treats, allowing both of our dogs to join in on the indulgence.
My partner Vicki and I found the experience to be both relaxing and enjoyable. Our host, Nick, was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The setting was comfortable, with enough space for the dogs to settle down while we enjoyed our tea. My dogs particularly loved the homemade biscuits provided for them and seemed to relish the attention they received from the staff and other visitors. Errol and Tig want to personally thank Nick for their free toys!
For those considering afternoon tea with their dogs at Ross and Friends, I would recommend bringing a blanket for them to relax on, especially if they are not used to sitting still for long periods. It’s also worth checking in advance if your dog has any dietary restrictions, as some treats may not be suitable for all dogs.
Overall, we found the experience to be well worth it, providing a perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence, with the brilliant bonus of sharing it with our dogs.
Private Playland enclosed dog Field
Before we sat down for a delightful afternoon tea, we had an hour with Errol and Tig in the Playland Dog Field. This the latest addition to the range of enclosed dog fields. Each has a brilliant setting and range of enriching activities. (The Main Safari is even over 35 acres!). Private Playland is toy themed and features its own pond, sandpit, ball pit, enrichments, and agility equipment. It was an absolute hit with my dogs!
From the moment we arrived, they were eager to explore the large, secure area. The field was muddy due to the winter weather but well-maintained, with plenty of space for running and playing.
One of the best aspects of the field was the secure fencing, allowing the dogs to roam freely without any concerns about them running off. Fresh water and poo bins were provided adding to the seamless experience.
Overall, Private Playland was an excellent place for exercise and enrichment. It offered a safe, stimulating environment, and my dogs thoroughly enjoyed it.
Visiting Ross and Friends
Finding Ross and Friends was a relatively easy experience. The venue is part of the Rossway Park Estate, so you have to drive up to a closed gate and request entry. We were able to do this without any hassle.
The location was easy to find via SatNav and clear directions are also provided online. There is lots of parking, which made preparing the dogs hassle-free. Once parked, you couldn’t miss the reception area, café, and my personal favourite, a fire where several dogs were warming up after a morning swim.
Would I recommend It?
I would absolutely recommend Ross and Friends to other dog owners. It offers a fantastic experience for both dogs and owners, combining a secure and fun play area with a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The only thing to consider is your dog’s social skills. There are both private and public fields so definitely something to keep in mind when booking.
Verdict: A must-visit for dog owners looking for an enriching dog-friendly experience. And it would be a shame not to indulge in afternoon tea, particularly as the coffee is so good!
