1 The Labradoodle is a cross between a Labrador and a Poodle.

2 Doodles come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colours - no two Doodles are the same!

3 A Labradoodle's coat can also vary greatly in texture; it can be flat like a Lab or very curly like a Poodle.

4 The name Labradoodle was coined by Wally Conran in the 1980s; he got the idea to mix the two breeds while working as a puppy breeding manager for the Royal Guide Dog Association of Australia. He had had a letter from a blind woman in Hawaii who needed an allergy-free dog.

5 The term Labradoodle is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary and is featured in an Australian version of Monopoly.

6 Celebrity owners have included presenters Graham Norton and Jeremy Clarkson, actress Jennifer Aniston, and golf champion Tiger Woods.

7 A Labradoodle nearly made its way into the White House when President Obama was looking for a dog, but was tipped by a Portuguese Water Hound.
