Helmsley Walled Garden

Filled with flowers, fruits and vegetables, this tranquil, five-acre garden bursts with colour. Stroll along the herbaceous borders, explore the different themed gardens, count the apple trees along the walls or just sit back and relax. Choose plants and gifts in The Garden Shop and eat at The Vine House Café.

We welcome dogs on leads and their owners. Dogs can go anywhere in the garden, the Garden Shop and The Vine House Café. You will find drinking bowls at the entrance to the garden and dotted around the café area. Your dog will get a welcome biscuit on arrival, just ask if one doesn’t appear. If your dog is small, they might not be visible to our kiosk volunteers.

With even the best-bred of us, accidents can happen. We have a dog waste bin situated by the outer gate if your dog is caught short in the garden.
