Old English Sheepdog Character
This breed is intelligent and needs a strong willed trainer to ensure that no undesirable traits are allowed to creep in. The Old English is however, keen to please their handlers. Special attention must be paid whilst in the early stages of training, not to allow any boisterous traits to become established.
Old English Sheepdog Size
Dog ranges from 61-71cm tall and weighs around 36-46kg. The bitch is about 56-66cm tall and ranges from 30-40kg.
Old English Sheepdog Health
: Hip Dysplasia is quite a common problem with this breed. Wobbler syndrome can also be common, usually between the ages of 3-12 months. If left untreated this can develop into total quadriplegia. Deafness can be found in some cases. Ensure that any coat/skin problems are dealt with quickly, as the thickness of the coat can make it difficult to treat once established.
