Japanese Shiba Inu Breed Profile
Japanese Shiba Inu Breed Profile
Japanese Shiba Inu Character
The Shiba-Inu is, like other spitz breeds, independent minded and intelligent. Obedience training is essential but also challenging as they will rarely perform tricks they feel to be pointless. They are however relatively easy to house-train because of their fastidious attitudes toward cleanliness. They have the attitude of larger dogs and so will require a good deal of socialization and care to avoid any aggressive behaviour in later life.
Japanese Shiba Inu Size
A medium sized dog, the Breed Standard recommends a height of around 39.5cm for dogs and 36.5cm for bitches.
Japanese Shiba Inu Health
A healthy breed, although some bloodlines are now prone to epilepsy and food allergies. Average life expectancy is between 12-15 years.
