Bred in its native Hungary to protect flocks from the danger of wolf attack, the Komondor is a large, athletic breed with a commanding presence that makes an excellent family companion.
Independent and intelligent as all good working stock should be, the Komondor is an excellent guard dog and will protect its territory with vigour.
The Breed Standard for the Komondor states that dogs should measure on average 80cm with bitches around 70cm.
In general the Komondor does not suffer from many serious conditions although it is susceptible to other large breed issues such as Hip Dysplasia and Bloat.
Komondor Special Care
Little beyond keeping a close eye out for any skin conditions, ticks and fleas could hide themselves quite easily under their coat.
Remember! All breed profiles are general and every dog is an individual.
