Can I leave my dog alone with interactive toys?
(Q) Are there any interactive dog toys that are safe to leave with your pet unsupervised? I want a treat ball or something to put her breakfast in when I go to work to stop her getting bored but they all say supervised play only.
(A) Behaviourist Steve Goward says: The Kong is widely used for dogs who are left alone, to provide them with something to do. The advice on the Kong website states you should supervise your dog until you are sure they will not destroy the toy and run the risk of choking on small pieces.
I believe this is a sensible way to approach introducing any toys to your dog and could open up possibilities for different types of interactive toys in the future.
