A small, active, cheeky, terrier. They make great companions for active people or families with older children.
A confident but friendly character on the whole, although Jack Russells can be a little short tempered and like most terriers, stubborn. Training, therefore can be tough, although achievable if you are firm. They like to be in charge of any situation, which can cause problems with other pets.
The Breed Standard says dogs ideally stand at 36 cm and bitches 33 cm.
Generally a healthy breed, although they can inherit eye problems so you should always buy from eye-tested litters, Jack Russells have a life expectancy of 13-14 years
An easy breed to care for.
