Bouvier Des Flandres Breed Profile

Generally amiable and a loving companion, excellent with children. The Bouvier Des Flandres can occasionally be aggressive, a left-over from its days guarding cattle herds. This aggression is usually reserved for strangers making them excellent guard dogs. They are highly intelligent and will rapidly grasp any task at hand but are also prone to stubbornness.

Ideal height for dogs should be 62-68cm and bitches 59-65cm. They should weigh around 35-40kg and 27-35kg respectively

As a large breed care should be paid to avoid Hip Dysplasia and other muscular and joint conditions

Bouviers require firm training to control their stubborn streak, and early socialization will also come in handy especially where children and other animals are involved.
