Good with children?: Yes

Good guard dogs?: No
Moulting level: Low

A beautiful little toy breed closely resembling and related to the Bichon and Maltese, the Bolognese is particularly rare even in its native Italy. Their aristocratic heritage is evident in the proud manner in which they carry themselves
Their temperament makes them an ideal companion breed, amiable and reserved but capable of forming a close bond with its owner. A Bolognese will happily play with children although they are a relatively docile breed in general. The Bolognese is an easily trained breed if the correct processes are followed and their happy character makes them eager to please
A small breed, the dogs should measure between 27-30cm with the bitches being slightly smaller at 25-28cm.
Free from any major congenital disorders; all that should be required is a regular grooming to prevent skin disorders. Life expectancy for the breed is 12-14years
Bolognese Special Care
Because of their hardy and easy going nature the Bolognese requires little special attention beyond keeping it secure and well kept.
Remember! All breed profiles are general and every dog is an individual.
